The day before your trip, your guide will contact you to confirm the best launch point based on river conditions, target species, and crowd levels. All meeting points are within a short drive from our lodging in Sterling, AK, and we do our best to keep your travel time to a minimum.

Bings Landing Campground Sterling, Alaska

Located in the heart of Sterling, this is one of the most popular boat launches on the middle Kenai River. It offers easy access to a productive stretch of water for both salmon and trout.

  • State-maintained facility

Issak Walton State Park Sterling, Alaska

A lesser-known access point just outside of Soldotna. Good for those wanting to avoid crowds during peak salmon season.

  • Limited parking

  • Shore access nearby

  • Great for walk-in fishing too

The Pillars Boat Launch Kenai, Alaska

Located on the lower Kenai River, this launch is a go-to for silver and sockeye salmon fishing. Close to town and very accessible.

  • Power boats common

  • Ample parking

  • Fish cleaning station on-site

Centennial Campground Soldotna, AK

A well-maintained park with a boat launch, campgrounds, and plenty of riverbank access. Great for both fishing and family activities.

  • Restrooms, camping, parking

  • Good for sockeye and silver runs

Kasilof River State Recreation Site Kasilof, AK

This is one of the main public access points for the Kasilof. It’s used frequently for drift boat launches due to the motor restrictions on much of the river.

  • Restrooms and parking

  • Drift boats only

  • Great for king salmon in early summer
