At ChasingTales Alaska, our mission is to provide unforgettable fishing experiences on the stunning Kenai River. We are dedicated to connecting anglers with the thrill of salmon and trout fishing, using a variety of techniques tailored to every skill level.
Alex is a proud, first-generation Alaskan, born and raised in southcentral Alaska. His family first came to the state from South Louisiana in 1971. He caught his first rainbow trout on the Upper Kenai River at the age of 7 and is now no stranger to the rivers and streams spanning the road system here in southcentral Alaska. He grew up fishing the Susitna tributaries out of the small town of Talkeetna with his Grandfather and the Kenai Peninsula river systems out of Cooper Landing with his Uncles.
​In 1998, his family purchased Kenai River Drifter’s Lodge in Cooper Landing and with a lot of blood sweat and tears they developed it into one of the finest fishing destinations in all of Southcentral Alaska. After a brief hiatus exploring Central America by motorcycle, Alex returned home to Drifter’s Lodge to try his hand at guiding. He quickly fell in love and quietly rose the ranks to become one of Drifter’s most requested guides. ​
Born and raised in Soldotna, Kaleb has spent much of his life on the waters of the Kenai Peninsula. Growing up with an uncle who worked as a fishing guide, he spent countless summers learning the rivers and developing a deep appreciation for Alaska’s fisheries. Before joining the ChasingTales Alaska team, Kaleb served in the Marine Corps, bringing the same discipline, work ethic, and dedication to his guiding career. Now in his second season as a guide, he’s passionate about sharing the excitement of Alaska fishing with anglers of all experience levels.
For Kaleb, nothing beats watching a client hook into a fish and seeing the excitement on their face. Whether it’s your first salmon or the fish of a lifetime, he’s committed to making every trip one to remember.
Originally from Iowa, Brady’s love for fishing started at an early age thanks to his dad, who introduced him to the outdoors. Many childhood days began before sunrise and ended after dark, spending every spare minute chasing fish and learning the water. After serving in the Army and being stationed in Alaska, Brady decided to pursue his lifelong passion for fishing, where he now shares that enthusiasm with guests on the Kenai Peninsula. His patient approach and genuine love for the sport make him a natural teacher and guide for anglers of all ages and abilities.Â
Brady’s favorite part of guiding is helping people experience fishing and, hopefully, passing along the same lifelong passion that started for him as a kid.
Now in his second year guiding with ChasingTales Alaska, Nate brings his passion, patience, and expertise to the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers. A skilled angler with years of experience, Nate’s calm demeanor and enthusiasm for sharing his love of fishing make him a favorite among clients of all skill levels.
When he’s not guiding in Alaska, Nate operates his own independent guide service based in Cook, WA, specializing in steelhead and salmon fishing on the renowned Klickitat River and surrounding waters. Whether you’re a seasoned fisherman or stepping into a boat for the first time, Nate’s dedication to creating memorable and successful days on the water shines through.

ChasingTales is proud to say they are now heading into their 14th season guiding on the Kasilof and Kenai rivers. We provide our guests with eight 20′ custom aluminum boats, 3 drift boats and 3 power boats, from Willie Boats Inc. We have also spared no expense in the selection of our fly and conventional tackle. Our focus is on the things we can control.
The combination of quality equipment and our knowledge of the area form a solid foundation to ensure your success on the water. There are few things guaranteed both in life and in fishing, but what we can guarantee is that at ChasingTales we will do everything in our power to make sure you get to experience the Alaska that we call home.
